Movers & Shakers - Jonathan Boulet

March 1, 2010

Ed. Nimmervoll puts the microscope on Australia's new boy wonder, Jonathan Boulet, who is earning acclaim for his self-titled debut album.

Sydney’s Jonathan Boulet is to Australia what Jamie T is to London. No similarity musically, but both are products of music that drifts through their environment, and through walls where they construct their DIY tracks. Both are young and energetic, carefree and careless. Boulet has virtually done the whole thing himself. No wonder Triple J love it: it’s like he’s fed off and filtered all the alternate pop they’ve offered in his 20-year lifetime.
