Elgato Eye TV Diversity

March 1, 2010

$249

RATING:

If you’ve fantasised about watching live sport at work (on your break, of course!) or have often suffered through a partner’s poor TV taste, Elgato’s EyeTV Diversity could be for you. Connected to a USB port on your Mac or PC (check system requirements), the Diversity receives a digital signal from either the supplied portable dual rod aerials, or your own localised antenna. It provides free-to-air viewing and the ability to record your favourite shows. Stored files can be played back on your computer, downloaded to your iPod/iPhone, or watched via Apple TV. Equipment set-up and software installation shouldn’t pose a problem for even the biggest tech-wreck: the main question being the device’s stated ability to pick up signals in weak coverage areas.
