Super Street Fighter IV (Xbox 360, PS3)

July 16, 2010

Capcom goes back to the old school with a gaming updates version.

RATING:

Street Fighter IV revitalised the one-on-one fighting game genre. Released in 2009, it took everything great about the franchise and revamped it. With glorious HD graphics, all your favourite characters (Ryu, Guile, Chun-Li), new contestants and a wonderful online mode, SFIV had people throwing fireballs like it was 1992. Twelve months on, Capcom is fulfilling another tradition by releasing an updates version – Super Street Fighter IV. So what’s different? Ten new characters, new moves, new ‘supers’, the return of the bonus stages and new online modes. For the most part the changes are incidental – new characters aside, the average player won’t really notice. That said, there’s no point messing with a winning formula; Super Street Fighter IV is the definitive fighting game. By Mikolai Napieralski
